THE WONDER OF WORDS: BOOK 2
ONE-HUNDRED MORE WORDS AND PHRASES SHAPING HOW CHRISTIANS THINK AND LIVE
"It is worth-while to look at the types of character that Jesus admires. How many of the parables turn on energy. Thus, for instance, the parable of the talents turns on energetic thinking and decisive action; and these are the things that Jesus admires." So wrote T. R. Glover in his book, "The Jesus of History." Think of the energetic people whom Jesus made the heroes of his parables: the crooked judge (Luke 18:2); the enterprising pearl merchant (Matthew 13:45); the dishonest accountant (Luke 16:8); the wasteful young man (Luke 15:13).
