A preacher was in the hospital. A nurse's aide was making the
rounds of rooms to take temperatures. He was half
asleep when she shoved the tube in his mouth and went on her way.
She came back and then recorded the temperature on the chart at
the foot of his bed. Soon after this the doctor came in and
picked up the chart. As he read it, he almost exploded, thus
alarming the preacher. The doctor called the aide and asked what
she had done to the patient. She said she took his temperature.
