Call To Worship
Leader: When you feel that you are on a solitary journey, remember this --
People: Before even your earthly parents thought about the possibility of your being, God knew you.
Leader: When the child in you does not want to recognize your adult skills, remember this --
People: Before you were born, God blessed you and wished well for you.
All: Let us remember that God is our ever-present guide.
Collect
You, O God, escort us through the many adventures of our journey. Lead us where you want us to go. Help us to perceive our life's journey as a holy pilgrimage rather than as an excursion tour. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We balk and shy away from the responsibilities that feel too great. Help us, O God, to grow beyond our limited portrayal of ourselves. Let us appreciate the signs of reassurance you offer us. Through the presence of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: What has you bent out of shape?
People: Arthritis, sports injuries, cancer, eating disorders, loss of memory, not enough exercise, diabetes, age-related changes.
Leader: What else has you bent out of shape?
People: Excessive tension, demands on time, too little money, too many burdens, boredom.
Leader: Anything else?
People: Lack of confidence, hurtful relationships, not being needed, feeling unloved, wasted skills and talents.
Collect
We count on you, O God, to set us free from what imprisons us. We know it is not in your plans that we suffer one day longer than we must. Thank you for treasuring us enough when we come to you that you lessen what wounds us in body and spirit. Thank you for healing us and making us as healthy as possible. Through Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We may believe, O compassionate Creator, that what bends our lives out of shape is forever. When healing seems not to be forthcoming, we lose heart and give up. We forget about you. Help us to turn to you. Let us see you in the healers you provide. Through the Holy Spirit. Amen.
51C Hymns
"Be [Calm][Still], My Soul" Tune: FINLANDIA
"How Gentle God's Commands" Tune: DENNIS
