Pastor: (Calls) Peter! Peter! Oh, hi, Peter!
Peter: Good morning, Pastor. What's on your mind?
Pastor: I want to know if you would like to go to the park with me. We could fly a kite or something! Isn't that a good idea?
Peter: Uh, yeah, that really does sound like fun, but I've got something important to do ... I'm goin' fishin'! I was on my way when I heard you call.
Pastor: Fishing? Peter, you don't even like fish. You won't eat it when your mom cooks it either. Why would you want to waste a beautiful day by going fishing?
Peter: Oh, Pastor, I wouldn't be wasting my time. Matter of fact, it's one of the best ways I know to spend my time!
Pastor: I don't understand, Peter. Besides, if you were goin' fishin', you'd need a fishing pole and lots of other stuff!
Peter: Pastor, I've got everything I need ... right here in my hand!
Pastor: What do you mean, Peter? You can't carry all that stuff in one hand. You mean you have a fishing pole and a fishing line, and ... Oh, no, Peter ... you couldn't ... ohhhhhh, Peter!
Peter: What, Pastor?
Pastor: You're not carrying worms in your hand, are you? Yecccchhh!
Peter: No, Pastor, I promise you I don't have any worms in my hand. In fact, I don't have any of those things you named in my hand ... No fishin' pole ... no fishin' line, nothing like that!
Pastor: Then how can you catch any fish? You've got to use something.
Peter: You're right ... That's why I have my Bible right here in my hand. I can sure be a fisherman with my Bible!
Pastor: Just what kind of fish are you trying to catch?
Peter: I thought you'd guess, Pastor. Jesus said in Matthew 4:19, "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people." That means because I'm a Christian, I want to tell others about Jesus.
Pastor: That's the best kind of fishing, Peter, and your Bible is the right way to catch "people-fish"! It tells all about how Jesus loves us and wants to save us.
Peter: You're right, Pastor. Hey, would you like to go fishin' with me? Fishin' for people?
Pastor: Sure! What are we waiting for? Let's go!
