God's Math: Lose Life = Save It
ASSAYINGS: THEOLOGICAL FAITH TESTINGS
Sermons For Pentecost (Middle Third)
When self-preservation is our central aim, we are never safe. However, when we are committed to surrender to the disturbances that Godly compassion produces we are never in danger.
So Jesus said, "For whoever wants to save his own life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."
We can be dumped into the most precarious situations but if God is with us we are not in danger. The worst that can happen to us is dislocation from Christ.
