Gerald Fitzgerald was the biggest giver at First Redeemer Church. Fitz, as he was called, was the owner of his own business and well-known for his generosity. Because of this, he had often been called on by the leaders in the congregation to head up the annual pledge drive. One year, while going over the pledges from the previous year, Fitz was surprized to discover that the second biggest pledge in the church was almost as much as his pledge.
