"Where are the gifts?" the first wise man asked the other two wise men. All day they had traveled through the wind storm with sand in their eyes, their ears, and their mouths. Nestled close to the camel on which he had ridden all day, he called to the others, "Where are the gifts? Are they safe?"
"I have them," the second wise man called back, as he brought the gold, the crown, and the book of the Law to the campfire, placing them on the ground.
"There would be no need for this long journey, if we should lose the gifts for the Child," replied the third wise man.
