Call To Worship
Despite our vision of peace, sustained harmony bypasses this world. Let us not stop talking together when struggle and hostility increase. Let us not cease trying to quiet discord at each opening. Rather, hold fast to what is right. Believe that healing of our broken world can come.
Collect
Teach us, O God, to speak again of hope for world peace. Show us how to replace ineffective strategies with new peacemaking ways. Teach us to listen anew for common ground. Let us find unnoticed beginning points of conversation between adversaries. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Merciful God, when we become discouraged and slip into thinking our efforts bear no fruit, sustain us. Keep before us the human faces scarred by turmoil and unrest. When we turn our backs in defeat, rouse us to new action. Keep before us the vision of a human face finding the smile of peace. Remind us of what is most important. Amen.
