There was a movie several years ago called Flashdance. It's the story of Alexandra, a young woman working as a welder in a factory. Alex loves to dance. She spends her evenings exercising and dancing alone to the music of an old record playing in her barren warehouse apartment. Her dream is to study dance with a major ballet company. But she has no money and no connections. There are so many obstacles that the dream seems out of reach, and Alex is frustrated. She's afraid she will have to give up her dream. In one scene Alex is taking out her anger on her boyfriend Nick.
