First Sunday Of Advent
Prayer
Daniel J. Weitner
And Other Reflections On Christmas
Object:
Meditation
Come, thou God of earth and heaven;
Now thine own, thy people, save!
Lest by sin's gross degradation,
We -- in error -- darkness crave.
Prayer
Blessed God, we thank you that, in the quietness of thought and in the secret place of the spirit, you remind us of your greatness. In this season particularly, keep our minds focused upon the wonder of your redeeming love.
We ask this through the merit of Jesus Christ, who is King of kings, and reigns over all creation.
Amen.
