Scriptural Cures For Our Wounds: Lenten/Easter Resources
The topic of discussion for the morning was the church year. I had just shared with the members of the 2001 Confirmation Class that Ash Wednesday falls forty days before Easter and Christ's ascension forty days after. As usually happens, one of the confirmands was quick to point out that there were actually 46 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Why the discrepancy? I explained to the class that it is because we do not count the Sundays since they are little Easters.
