Call To Worship
Right: The spirit told Philip to join the chariot of the Ethiopian.
Left: That official was puzzling over the prophet Isaiah.
Right: Philip asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?"
Left: He replied, "How can I, unless someone guides me?"
Right: And he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him.
Left: Then Philip began to speak, and starting with this scripture, he proclaimed to him the good news about Jesus.
Right: Lord, we struggle to understand your word.
Left: Guide us in our study as individuals and as a group.
Right: Send your Spirit to aid our interpretation.
Left: Let our study be with this aim in mind
All: that day by day, we may grow to see you more clearly, love you more dearly, follow you more nearly.
Unison Prayer
Dear Lord, hear our confession. You alone are Lord. You alone are worthy of praise. Guide us in our worship, guide us in our living, guide us in our giving. Accept the love we offer as we praise you for being God. Amen.
Morning Prayer
Lord, we need you every hour. How can we understand your will for our lives without you? Send your Spirit into our midst. Let our ministry to each other become a witness to your power and your love. Amen.
Offering Prayer
More than these gifts, we offer ourselves, our lives, our will, our treasure, our selves. They were always yours. Now we return them freely to you. Grant us the gift of living in accordance with your will. Amen.
Children's Benediction
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
