Call To Worship
Leader: Let all who trust in the Lord gather this day for worship!
People: The Lord God almighty is our strength and our hope.
Leader: No other name in heaven or earth can compare with the Lord, our God.
People: And no nation will prevail against those who serve and love the Lord.
Leader: Then let us lift up our praise for God's wonder and power and strength.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
Almighty and Merciful God, only Your steadfast love has carried us throughout the ages and only in You may we place our faith with certainty. We give You our love and praise, O God. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, so often we have tried to live our lives in our own strength and by our worldly wisdom only to find ourselves broken and exhausted. Too often, God, we have even allowed our faith to drift from You to the things of this world for our security. Forgive us, Lord. Lead us to grow in Your wisdom and to lean on Your strength daily. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Rock Of Ages"
"A Mighty Fortress"
"God Will Take Care Of You"
Fifth Sunday After Epiphany
Second Lesson: 1 Corinthians 9:16-23
Theme: Do all things for Christ.
Call To Worship
Leader: Let all who would serve the risen Christ enter the house of the Lord!
People: May all that we do or say be pleasing in the sight of God.
Leader: May our labors and our leisure be worthy of God's chosen children.
People: And may we bring honor and praise to the Lord through our lives.
Leader: That all around us may one day join us in lifting praise unto the Lord.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O merciful and loving God, in Your divine wisdom You call each of us to walk with You and to share the blessings of Your presence in our lives with all who will hear. Thank You, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, so often we have failed to recognize and take advantage of the opportunities in life in which You have placed us. Too often instead we have complained or found fault or been unwilling to simply serve You to the best of our ability and allow You to work through our lives to witness to the world. Forgive us, Lord, and call us anew to do all that we do for You. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"All To Jesus I Surrender"
"Take My Life, And Let It Be"
"Just As I Am, Without One Plea"

Collect
O Lord, You alone are the Creator and Sustainer of all the Universe, and in Your merciful love You have extended to us Your healing and salvation. With true love we thank you, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.

Lord, so often in our pride we forget the way we were before You touched our lives. And too often, Lord, we tend to forget what we would still be were it not for Your forgiveness and healing power.
