Andre Malraux, the French author, tells in his book Lazarus of being with the troops that liberated the Nazi extermination camps toward the end of World War II. He said that you could see the prisoners' skeletons through their skin. One journalist who was with the liberating troops was interviewing the now former prisoners. They were very weak and many were near death. The interviews did not last very long, but the power of what they said and the way they said it could not be measured by the length of the interview.
