'Come and follow me,' said Jesus
to the men beside the sea.
And they left their nets and followed
from the shores of Galilee.
'Come and follow me' to Matthew
at the tax collector’s table,
And he left accounts and money
just as fast as he was able.
Come and follow me, says Jesus,
come and follow me today.
I will set you free, says Jesus.
Come and follow while you may.
And what does it mean to follow him?
To walk with him, to stay with him?
It means to begin to think with him,
to the men beside the sea.
