Words Of Assurance
Fear not! For behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord.
Pastoral Prayer
Joy to the world! The Lord is come: let earth receive her king. We praise you and give thanks to you, O God, for the hope born into the world through Jesus Christ. Open our hearts to receive him, our ears to his promises, our arms to embrace the world for whom he was born, and our hands to do his work.
Joy to the world! The Savior reigns, let us our songs employ. O God, let our lives express the hope that Christ brings. Let our lips speak the love of Christ! Let our actions be devoted to peace on earth.
Joy to the world! Christ comes to make the blessings flow, as far as the curse is found. We pray, O God, for those who bear this day the sufferings of the world: for those who are wounded in spirit or broken in body; for those who grieve, and for those in lands torn apart by war; for those who are hungry, and for all who have lost all hope. Give to them, and to us, a renewed vision of your loving presence. Empower us with a willingness to serve others as Christ served.
Joy to the world! The Lord is come! Let these our prayers be joined with the praises of all heaven and earth, giving thanks this day for the wonders of your love... the wonders of your love. In the name of Christ. Amen.
Benediction
May the awe of Mary, the joy of the shepherds, and the wonder of the Wise Men be with you now and forevermore, world without end. Amen.
