Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Second Lesson: Titus 2:11-14
Theme: It Will Happen Again
Call To Worship (adapted from Romans 16:25-27)
God is able to strengthen us according to the gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ. This revelation of the mystery was kept secret for long ages but is now disclosed, and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith. Come, let us worship the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever! Amen.
Collect
Still we wait, Lord, still we wait. Having once beheld the angels, having once heard the song, we wait for your coming in glory that the strain may once more begin, and this time never to end. We lift our hearts, we lift our voices, in anticipation, as we wait for you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
With humble hearts we approach the manger. Lord, as the child grows in our Gospel Readings to become Savior and King, open our eyes to the children around us, that we might wait with anticipation for your will to be done in their lives. Chastise us if we scold too eagerly. Unto us a child should be born, if we are ready to receive your gift of life in our midst. Amen.
Hymns
Angels We Have Heard On High
Good Christian Friends, Rejoice
Silent Night
