Story Time At The Altar

There once was a poor woodcutter whose heart was full of love, but his stomach was very empty. In the winter he was cold, as well. But because he loved every living thing, he refused to tear off living branches in order to warm himself, for the sap, which is the blood of the tree, would drip, as if the tree were bleeding. One day the woodcutter was walking through the woods when he heard, "Sticky, sticky is my sap when my tender twigs are snapped."
