Calls To Worship And Other Worship Resources
The image comes to me of a man who looks small on a barren
desert which looms large. He shakes his fist at the sky and cries
out, "I didn't ask for this life!" And, of course, he didn't.
None of us asked for the lives we have -- where we were born, our
sex, our race, our time in history. So the question of being was
never our choice; but the question of what we do with our being
is our choice. Long ago, a shepherd, David, did stand on the
desert, stared at the magnificent sky, felt a kinship with the
desert which looms large. He shakes his fist at the sky and cries
