AN 18-HOUR DEVOTIONAL VIGIL
Worship
Contemporary Worship Resources For Lent
(Many churches in recent years have observed a prayer vigil of 12 or 24 hours. In many cases this has been a program whereby one or more persons came to the church for a brief period of silent prayer. One church found that more persons participated in a Devotional Vigil -- a combination of some devotional programs and periods of silence for private meditation. This program -- for 18 hours -- began following the Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion and ended at 3 p.m. on Good Friday.)
