Call To Worship
Leader: Let us thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to all people.
People: The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.
Leader: Blessed be the Lord, our God, who does wondrous things.
People: Blessed be his glorious name forever; may his glory fill the whole earth.
Collect
How good you have been to us, O God! You have blessed us with a rich and marvelous heritage in both our nation and our church. We are truly the recipients of blessings given to us by those who have been the pioneers of our faith and life here in America. Laws, freedom, truth, and faith in you have been given to us through the courage and commitment of our ancestors. We give thanks for this great heritage! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Heavenly Father, to count your many blessings to us would be like trying to count the stars. Forgive us for taking them for granted, and by the power of your Holy Spirit enable us to see that we have been blessed in order that we might be a blessing to others; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hymns

Call To Worship
Leader: Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the people with equity and guide all the nations upon the earth.
People: Let all the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you.
Collect
Almighty God, we give you thanks for those who commit themselves to the task of government and leadership in the nations of the world, and particularly those in our own country. Give them a vision of truth and justice, that by their counsel all nations may work together in true brotherhood. Breathe into their hearts a new spirit of self-sacrifice that will enable them to work tirelessly for the welfare of all humankind. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we are always quick to criticize and slow to express our thanks. Not only do we seek your pardon for past failures, but we ask that your Spirit will motivate us to express our thanks through prayer and personal contact for those who faithfully serve you by serving in the halls of government. Amen.
Hymns
"Praise To The Lord, The Almighty"
"Now Thank We All Our God"
Day Of Thanksgiving

Call To Worship
Leader: Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him.
People: We are his people, we are his flock.
Leader: Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving; go into its courts with praise.
People: Give thanks to him and praise him.
Leader: The Lord is good, his love is eternal,
People: and his faithfulness lasts forever.
Collect
Our Father, we give you thanks that you have brought us through the circuit of another year, and you have kept your promise of seedtime and harvest. Despite drought, heavy rains, and freezing temperatures we have the assurance that there will be food enough for the coming year and seeds for planting in the spring. How fortunate we are to be able to live as we do. Thanks be to you, O God, thanks be to you! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, while we enjoy the bounty of another harvest we know that there are some in our own land and many others throughout the world who go to bed hungry every night. Use us individually and as a church, we pray, to work at solutions to this problem. Let us not rest until the world's bountiful harvests are spread to include all those who hunger. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"God Will Take Care Of You"
"We Gather Together"
