In 1977 I was attending Seminary in Washington, D.C. On January 20 President Carter was inaugurated. I knew I would never get a chance to see another such occasion, so some seminary friends and I braved the cold day to go down to the Capitol. When we arrived it was clear that only "invited guests" would be allowed onto the Capitol grounds. However, we walked to a side gate and, as a large group of influential-looking people walked in, we just walked in with them.
