My friend tells the story...

My friend tells the story of an aunt who has spent the better part of her retirement years fleshing out the family tree. She has traveled the continents researching libraries, walking through graveyards to read gravestones, collecting pictures, reading court records and old newspapers, and doing everything within her power to record her ancestry. For her, every one of them is a hero and has an interesting story to tell. Yet this same aunt despises her son-in-law and forbids him to enter her home. Her daughter is almost forgotten because of some misunderstanding of twenty years ago. Her son seldom returns home and rarely writes or calls because he believes his mother is one of life's largest problems. Her name and where she came from are far more important than her life and her living relationships. -- Runk
