A small Bible
Good morning! Today I brought a Bible with me. Normally Christians read the Bible for inspiration and information. But sometimes people take their Bibles with them for another reason: they want to impress others. They want others to think that they are very religious, so they carry their Bibles everywhere they go. There is a fancy word for people who want to use their religion to impress others: hypocrisy. Can you say that word? (Let them try.)

The Bible is a wonderful book, but we use it for reading, studying, learning, and finding out about Jesus. We do not use it

Object: The object of the lesson is a gesture you will teach the children.

Note: The gesture used both hands. Hold both hands in front of you and make the thumbs-up sign with both hands with both thumbs pointing back at your chest. This is the “ME!” gesture. Then simply rotate your hands back so your thumbs are pointing straight up in the air, like two “OK” signs. This is the “US” gesture.
