Steadfast love, however, is based on a commitment of the mind and will. Steadfast love transcends feelings. Another word for steadfast love might be commitment.
A woman rushed up to famed violinist, Fritz Kreisler, after a concert and told him: "I'd give my life to play as beautifully as you do." Kreisler replied, "I did." He did because of his steadfast love, his commitment.
