The young couple were excited...

The young couple were excited about their pregnancy. Now they started thinking about and discussing names. If it is a girl ... if it is a boy. Do we name it after one or the other or both of the grandparents? Do we give our daughter my first name? Do we give our son my first name? Do I even like my own name? Do we buy a book on children's names and just pick one we like? Suppose he or she doesn't like the name we choose? Do we give him or her a first name and a middle name or just one name? What about the initials the name(s) will form, will they spell out a name or stand for something silly? Does it matter? Expectant parents spend a great deal of time and thought choosing a name for a child. It is a major decision. We have our name for life. We are known by that name to all we meet; it is who we are. We are called by name by our God. It is the name by which we are loved. -- Lynch
