You can spot them by...

You can spot them by the way they talk. They know something about everybody. They may have talked with a person in passing and then pass that along as the basis of a perfect friendship. They like people to hear them talk about who they are acquainted with. They prop themselves up on the pedestals of others. We call them "name-droppers. They are not invited to intimate gatherings, because they do not have a substantial relationship with the very people whose names they flaunt.
