In the wonderful musical, Camelot, we meet King Arthur and his beautiful wife, Guinevere. Theirs is the so-called perfect kingdom where it never gets too hot in the summer and the snow never gets too deep in the winter. Arthur gathers knights about him, "the knights of the round table."
One of those trusted knights, Lancelot, falls in love with the queen, and she loves him. Then comes the breakup of the loyalty of the knights and the breakdown of the kingdom.
Off to the nunnery goes Queen Guinevere. And in a final scene, Arthur is fighting one last battle. In the morning mist, he sees someone approaching. Who can it be? Why, it's only a boy. The boy tells the king: "Please sir, I want to be a knight."
But the king isn't sure about the future. Should he knight this boy? Yes, he will do that. "Kneel, boy, kneel." He touches the sword to each shoulder. Then he says: "Run, boy, run. Tell everyone you meet that once there was a spot for one shining moment that was known as Camelot."
We are a part of a kingdom which is eternal, and we serve the One who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever and forever!
