Whenever you are close to the ocean, it isn't very hard to find a listing of high tide and low tide. In some situations it can be very important. One year while vacationing in Maine it came in handy. Along the coast of Maine is the beautiful Acadia National Park. Included in the park is an island just a little off the shore of the town of Bar Harbor. No boats take you to the island and there are no bridges, so how do you get there? You have to wait for low tide, and a walkway of stones and shells appears, leading right to the island.
