When the Taliban ruled...
When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, they sowed a rigid conformity of lifestyle that did not honor women nor serve the education needs of their children nor respect differences between individuals or cultures or religions. For example, when they blew up the large, carved-in-a-mountain Buddha statues in Afghanistan, they thought they were purging the land of heresy. Actually, they were sowing the seeds that, along with other things, led to their own downfall from leadership in Afghanistan. Their "rod of anger” failed to be a blessing for the land or the people.
