When I am overwhelmed by the business and busy-ness of the church, it sometimes seems that the sole purpose of our existence is to recruit more new members, run more programs and raise more money, in a never-ending cycle. That's not what we say we believe our church is all about, but it sure looks like it sometimes. For though we talk about spiritual concerns, if you judge us by what we do, rather than by what we say, we seem to be primarily interested in money, programs and members.
