"But what will I do in the meantime?" Margie wailed to her father, a retired army colonel. Margie's army husband, Dave, had just been assigned to a secret, extended tour of duty overseas. She didn't know where he was, and she could contact him only in an emergency through army officials. She was left alone to care for their two small children and their home. She was given no inkling when to expect her husband's return.
