What will the future be like? Few things fascinate us more than a guesstimate about the future. A Future World Expo in San Francisco did not disappoint the devotees of fantasy.
There were gadgets and gimmicks galore. A belt-like device had a so-called compatibility communicator that gives a mild shock wave when you meet the perfect mate. A portable respirator will protect the wearer from air-borne allergies for hours. People will be able to wear calorie-absorbing collars, so no one will be fat. Shoes will have jets enabling us to fly.
What will heaven be like? Our future destinies receive as much attention by the religious futurists as anything else. This interest probably accounts for the unwarranted precision with which the figurative language of Revelation is interpreted.
