Were I limited to a few sentences as a life guide, I would select Jesus' words in this passage from Luke.
It is said that there are five basic levels of human interaction. The junkie killing for another's jacket practices the lowest, extermination. Individuals using others as subjects of manipulation exploit. As we tolerate others, we begin to acknowledge their rights.
To appreciate, we find evidence of God's creativity in other persons. We value and respect their gifts, talents and very being.
