We all endure emotional shocks...
We all endure emotional shocks -- like when we forget to pay a bill and a past-due notice
glows pink in our mailbox. Isaiah shocks his people, "Do not remember." Their country
has been overrun, their leaders slain, cities burned, and the temple taken apart stone by
stone.
Commanding God's people to forget the former things is like telling them to forget their
birthday, their baptism, their anniversary, and the Fourth of July. "Don't remember?
That's all we have. It's like the few trinkets we grabbed before we ran from our burning
house!"
