Until children reach a certain age the only reality is now. How frustrating it is for an adult to offer a scrumptious reward to a little child only to get a most ungrateful response because the prize is not immediate.
With that in mind let the reality sink in that "with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day." Then think about all the times we wonder how God can let this or that injustice go on, or be so slow to deliver justice, while the parameters for that judgment are a relatively short time span.
If one day equals 1,000 in God-think and if God has created us for eternity then there are many times, like a small child, we will find ourselves asking why God is so slow to act or, even worse, think that he is absent from the scene. If small children think that of us, then multiply that by infinity -- and keep the faith. -- Fairlie
