In traveling about the city...
Illustration
In traveling about the city or countryside most of us rely, often more than we realize, upon "landmarks" --turn at the street with the green-colored ice cream shop ... after the second railroad track look for a cement company and quarry and turn at the next road ...
The author of this epistle is concerned to give all manner of helpful suggestions as to being a faithful follower of Christ in his time (verses 1-7). Here he reminds them of an important reality: amidst changing landmarks of life, Christ's centrality is an eternal point of reference and orientation.
