Thomas Gray, the eighteenth century British poet, once wrote: "Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise." Joyce Cary, a British novelist from the first half of this century, commented: "It is the tragedy of the world that no one knows what he doesn't know -- and the less a man knows, the more sure he is that he knows everything." The passage urges us to seek wisdom, that we might know God's plan for our lives. -- Bowen
