There's a popular e-mail going around that reads like this:
"Christ called when I was a small child and said, 'Follow me.' Friends said, 'You are too young. Wait until you are older.' So Christ went away. Christ called me again when I was a teenager and said, 'Follow me.' Folks said, 'Wait a while and have fun like others do. You have plenty of time.' So again he went away. When I was a young mother, Christ came again and said, 'Follow me.' But I said, 'Lord, I am so busy with the children and my job, I have no time to follow you.' So he went away. When I was very old, Christ came to me and said, 'Follow me.' And I said, 'I am an aged woman, frail, sick, and helpless. I cannot follow you.' Then I closed my eyes ... and went away, without him."
Christ offers living water to us throughout our lives. Drink it when you are thirsty. Don't wait until you can no longer swallow it.
