Terrorist attacks put open societies...

Terrorist attacks put open societies at risk. In the United States, we are accustomed to free and easy movement within our national boundaries. If you want to shop in the next state, you don't have to get anybody's permission to go. You don't have to show any identity papers to an armed guard at the state border. Nothing other than your personal preference and circumstances of finance and employment determines where you live. You are free to choose where you work. You cannot be ordered to show up to be part of a political demonstration.
