St. Paul learned there is...

St. Paul learned there is someone, the risen, living Lord, who enables people to stand, to know where they are going and why.
Admiral Richard E. Byrd spent six months at the South Pole. Those six months of nighttime must have seemed endless, even though he had an adequate shelter and all the necessities for survival. But one day he wandered off in a snowstorm. Suddenly, he realized he could no longer see the smokestack of his little house. What should he do?
He knew he must not panic. He decided to mark the spot so he would not wander farther in the wrong direction. Then he hammered a stake into the ice, attached a long rope to it, and moved out around the peg in ever-widening circles, until he got so far out he almost pulled the stake loose. He returned and made it more secure in the ice, and added another section of rope. This time, as he circled around the peg, he walked right up to the entrance of his shelter. With the peg in the ice as his sure point of reference, he found his way.
The more we attach ourselves to the risen Christ, the more we can find our way.
