The SS EthieI...

The SS Ethie went aground off Newfoundland in surf that would have drowned any human swimmer, and a Newfoundland dog carried a lifeline to the ship. Before the wreck broke up, nearly 100 people were brought safely ashore. The dog, Botswain, achieved literary immortality when Lord Byron wrote an epitaph for the dog's gravestone at Newstead Abbey in England: "Beauty without Vanity/ Strength without Insolence/ Courage without Ferocity/ and all the Virtues of Man without his Vices."
In Jesus' baptism, the heavenly Father identified Jesus as his sinless and perfect Son, who is qualified to carry out the task of rescuing the whole world from sin, death, and the power of the devil.
