Speeches come and go. When President Lincoln stood up to speak at the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg, he followed a noted speaker who talked for well over an hour. When Lincoln was finished this other speaker told the president that he had said in two minutes more than he had said in his entire speech. Again, some speeches are more memorable than others. The "beatitudes" are just such a speech.
