Sometimes it is difficult to stand up for truth when evil rules. Paul was no shrinking violet when it came to his defense of the gospel. With a blazing pen Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, admonishing them to resist evil. In the chaotic chronicle of his perilous times the doughty apostle of truth called the faithful flock in Thessalonica to stand up for gospel truth. During the early days of World War II it looked to many as if the evil of the Axis powers would sweep concepts such as truth and justice into the scrap heap of history.
