Some historians think of Wood row Wilson as a prophet to America and the world. He was the son of a Presbyterian minister who became a college president before he was persuaded to go into politics. After he served as governor of New Jersey, he was elected to the presidency.
During Wilson's first term of office World War I broke out. While he was determined to keep the United States out of the war, our nation was eventually drawn into it. The war ended with millions of people around the world horrified at the large number of casualties.
