The sin of Judah is...
Illustration
The sin of Judah is so severe it is engraved, it is indelible. It is difficult to imagine any people becoming so wrapped up in themselves that they abandon God and indeed lower their own standards so much that they no longer have any redeeming qualities. Obviously such people will find the punishment for their turning away from God just as severe.
Our world, our own country, runs the same risk as Judah. We are so proud of ourselves, we travel in space, discover new technologies that promise to make life better, make weapons of destruction so well that even war has become an acceptable alternative to negotiation. We do all this and when things go our way we say, "Thank God." But do we really mean it? Many in America go hungry while we buy expensive toys with money that says "In God We Trust." Do we?
God alone is worthy of total trust. "I the Lord search the mind and try the heart, to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."
