Should we be surprised that...
Should we be surprised that the Israelites complained? It seems many people expect to go through life without any troubles. Even -- or especially -- being President does not preclude troubles. Consider the family of President Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy's son, Quentin, has his plane shot down in the waning weeks of WWI and was killed. Teddy died in 1919. His son, Teddy Jr., did not die in WWI. In fact, he became a brigadier general, but he was killed in WWII in France. So the two sons of President Theodore Roosevelt, Quentin and Teddy Jr., are interred next to one another in Normandy, France.
