The sage reminds us that God has mercy on all. He desires to spare all.
Is there such a thing as a Divine lottery? Our thinking about God and our salvation may be influenced by lottery-type thinking.
Does God choose people by lottery? Tickets are to be drawn -- eyes glued on the TV for magic numbers. Will we have won a bundle? But that would mean that other members of the human family have lost -- a tragedy.
What if our number is not drawn? Will the tickets all be gone, no salvation to be purchased for us?
But, God's salvation is not awarded on the basis of the usual human competition. All are winners. Salvation is for all people. God's free grace is available for all.
