The room was far too quiet for the first class of a new course. We talked to each other in quiet voices. Most of us were nervous. We'd heard horror stories about this particular class, but there was little we could do about it. If we really felt called to be pastors our choice was simple. Either we passed this class or one that was supposed to be even harder still. The moment our professor entered the room all of our talking stopped. A stillness settled over the room as we waited for him to begin.
