In requesting help for Onesimus, Paul alludes to his wish that the Christian community would help him of its own free will. Paul does not want to force them to help. Paul sounds very much like a parent in this passage.
When I was younger, my two sisters and I had our specific jobs around the house. I mowed the lawn and took out the garbage, while my two sisters helped with dinner and household chores. None of us were explicitly asked to do any other jobs around the house.
